Privacy Policy
1. Overview
PixGenia is designed to be as private as a free public service can be: there are no accounts, no sign-up forms, no payments, and we do not ask for your name or email address to use the Service.
This policy explains the small amount of data we do process, why we process it, and the rights you have. PixGenia is operated from France and complies with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
2. The Anonymous Cookie Identifier
When you first generate an image, we set a cookie named "pixgenia_uid" in your browser. It contains a randomly generated identifier that is not derived from and cannot be linked to your identity. The cookie is kept for up to 1 year.
This identifier exists for one purpose: enforcing the fair-use quota of 20 free images per rolling 24-hour period. It is strictly necessary for the Service to operate; it is not used for advertising, cross-site tracking, or profiling.
You can delete the cookie at any time through your browser settings. Doing so simply resets your anonymous identifier.
3. What We Log
Each generation request creates a usage record containing: the anonymous visitor identifier, your IP address, a timestamp, and the outcome of the request (for example success, moderation refusal, or error).
We use these records to enforce the daily quota, to prevent abuse and automated misuse of the Service, and to keep the Service running reliably. Our legal basis under the GDPR is legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f)): operating and protecting a free public service. Records are retained only as long as needed for these purposes and are then deleted or fully anonymized.
4. Your Prompts and Images
We do not store the text prompts you submit on our servers. Prompts are transmitted to our AI image generation provider (OpenAI) solely to produce your image, and the provider processes them under its own terms and data-handling commitments.
Generated images are returned directly to your browser. We do not maintain a server-side gallery or archive of your images; if you close the page without saving an image, it is gone.
5. No Ads, No Selling of Data
We do not sell, rent, or trade any data to anyone. We do not run third-party advertising, and we do not embed third-party marketing or social tracking scripts on the site.
The only third parties that may process data on our behalf are our hosting infrastructure and the AI provider described above, each strictly to deliver the Service.
6. Your Rights
Under the GDPR and similar laws, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, and restrict the processing of your personal data, as well as the right to object to processing based on legitimate interest.
Because the data we hold is anonymous or near-anonymous, we may be unable to link records to you specifically; where identification is impossible, some rights may not technically apply (GDPR Article 11). To exercise your rights or ask any privacy question, contact us at legal@pixgenia.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority; in France, this is the CNIL (cnil.fr).
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page indicates the latest revision. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
